Green Bean Cake a la Judy’s Ma

Got this recipe from good friend Judy as her mom does this for her every time she visits her. Since Judy is not a big fan of sweets, I got the opportunity to “help” 😎😎 Super happy to help!

Ingredients

  1. 500g dried green bean without skin
  2. 160g unsalted butter
  3. 100g white sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak the green beans in water for 6-8 hours (or overnight), then steam them for an hour.
  2. Use food processor to grind them to mashed paste.
  3. Put the butter into a non-sticking pan, let it melt, put the green bean paste into the pan and slowly mix them well.
  4. (optional but crucial for the texture of the cake) Filter the mix through a sift equipment (I bought one just for this purpose!).
  5. Split the paste into 50g of round ball.
  6. Use the mode (or called cake stamps?) (and yes I bought a set of them just for this purpose as well) to press and shape
  7. Put in frig to cool, it will taste better when it is cool!
