Beef Stew with Carrot and Potato

Ingredients

  • 1kg beef
  • 1 potato (or whatever you want to put)
  • 1 carrot 🥕 (or whatever quantity you want)
  • 3 slice of ginger
  • Some garlic
  • 3 pieces of Onion
  • 2 star anise (Ba Jiao)
  • 2 piece Bay Leaf (Xiang Ye)
  • 1 piece of cinnamon (Gui Pi)
  • Sichuan Pepper
  • 2 spoons of cooking liquor
  • 1 spoon of Shengchou Soy Sauce
  • 1 spoon of Laochou Soy Sauce
  • 1 piece of Crystal Sugar (Bing Tang)
  • Some salt

Instructions

  1. Cut beef into cubes, wash thoroughly and keep in clean water for an hour, change the water from time to time to remove the blood.
  2. Prepare all ingredients from no. 4-10
  3. Put beef in cold water and boil, pick it out piece by piece.
  4. In a pan, put some oil, and put Step 2 output into the pan and fry to color.
  5. Put Step 3 output in, fried till some water coming out.
  6. Put ingredients no. 11-14 into Step 5 output, stir fry more until color changes.
  7. Put boiled water (needs to be boiled) into the pan just cover the beef, bring to boil for 5 min.
  8. Turn the fire lower and stew for 40 min.
  9. Prepare the potato and carrot into pieces, put into the stew, stew for 10 min (or which ever time that works for you).
