The Best Dog Parks in Seattle in 2023

Seattle is an extremely dog-friendly place and there are so many parks you can take your furry friend to. For us, a good dog park should have the following characteristics: 1) reasonably secured periphery; 2) reasonably clean or with clean facilities; 3) have a few variation of areas so dogs can do a bit of different things, e.g. large area to run around, a place to swim, etc. 4) no mean dog (kidding…), but reasonably well-behaved dogs so you do not have to worry about your dog get hurts by other dogs. After almost a year, we have find a few that we’d like to recommend (not in any particular order).

Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Park

This is a very popular dog park with variation of landscapes, it has wide field to run, a river area to swim, and the best thing is that there is a Wash Spot Exp Self Services Dog right outside of the park, where you can give your friend a bath right after he/she had a muddy fun in the park 😊

Edmonds Off-Leash Dog Park (Marina Beach Park)

This is an area right next to Marina Beach Park, it is not very big but the scenery is just phenomenal, particularly in summer! You can see the mountains, sea, sometimes you can see sea lions, there is a wide area for dog to swim (if you are not too worry about your dog swim away…This is always our concern so we have never let PJ swim in such area without a long leash…poor girl…). It is also a great place to take your dog for a walk along the sealine, super refreshing. In summer, we took PJ here and we do kayaking together on the sea (or bay?), extremely fun! Love this one! ❤️❤️❤️

Magnuson Park Off-Leash Dog Park

This dog park is exceptionally good for PJ, it is very big and the whole area is completely secured (i.e. no opening that your dog can escape) – this is the only one we found so far like this and this big, thanks god! We finally can safely put PJ off leash… She runs around so happy until exhausted each time!

Luther Burbank Dog Park

This one is on Mercer Island, it is reasonably big with varieties of area for your loved one. There is a big area for dogs to swim (away… 😂). We found the owners and dogs are particularly well behaved the time we went there, as we accidently went into a completely closed area for small dog (we did not notice the sign that is only for small dog) and some owners nicely reminded us we should go out to the big area 😋,where we can not really put PJ off leash as the area is not completely secured (lots of open area where dog can wander off…).
