Another thing Husky is known for is extremely high energy and heavy chewing – thus some even give them the nickname of “home breaker”. I have seen horrific videos online what Husky can do at home. Luckily PJ does not do that (🤞🤞) except when she was young, she did chew a leg of one of our chairs. Eric used to lecture me that “whatever wrong-doing the dog has, it is always the owners’ fault!”. I understand that now. The key is to make sure they get enough exercise, and stay stimulated and engaged so that they do not have excessive energy to “break your home”. We have been trying different toys for her to see which ones stick (long-lasting and keep her interested). Below are a few that stay the test of time so we strongly recommend them.
Benebone Wishbone Durable Dog Chew Toy for Aggressive Chewers
During PJ’s teething period, we have tried many chews for her and they are either easily broken by her (within a day) or they create issues for her (cause mouth bleeding, horrible!). After many tries, we found this one works very well. She likes it and it is durable. There are multiple selections of flavor. The price is also reasonable. Strongly recommend it for any heavy chewers!
goDog Dinos Frills Squeaker Plush Pet Toy for Dogs
We have tried many plush toys with PJ and most of them did not survive for an hour… When she tear them off with the stuff inside out, we have to throw them away to avoid her swallow the stuff. I have tried to fix a few by sewing them back, but that did not last long either. This specific one, however, magically lasts for a few months, and there are various shape and form to pick. Love it! And PJ also likes it, most of them when she is inviting us to play with her, this is her go-to toy.
Chuckit! Classic Ball and Launcher
There is no better toy for a dog than a ball! PJ loves this moving thing and she can play with it by herself, zip it in the mouth, throw it, bounced on the floor then chase it! Quite fun! We also take this to dog park so a launcher is very very helpful!
Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Stuffed Toy for Dogs
This is PJ’s sleeping companion in her crate. It needs to be chew proof and it is! Also the design of the shape is good for her to lay her neck on it. She seems to like it and did not chew it at all. We do not use the heart though just to prevent accidental chewing.
KONG Wubba Ballistic Friends Dog Toy
This is a perfect outdoor throw and play toy. We had so much fun with it in our backyard and it is super robust. The only time we had to purchase a new one is because it was thrown into a place we can not retrieve back 😋. The color is so flashy so it is also eye pleasing when you are playing it with your furry friend. PJ definitely loves it.
There are a lot more toys we have for PJ but she lost interests in them within very short period of time so they end up laying in the boxes. The ones listed above here endure the test of time so we recommend them!
